Even Werewolfs Need Love

So Matt, aka The Whomping Willows, just posted a bummer of a blog post over at his myspace page. It seems that sometime Saturday night the van that he’s sharing with The Remus Lupins while he tours with them, was broken into.

The full post can be found here.

Matt says that while he’s escaped the ordeal with no losses, the Lupins weren’t so lucky. They lost two iPods and a cashbox with around $2K in it. Matt encourages folks who have not picked up the Lupins’ new CD to give some thought about doing so, and I have to agree with that sentiment.

I’m still digesting the band’s latest CD, I Was A Teenage Werewolf (the money I happily paid for it, I guess is now gone), but there are several songs on the disk that have already grabbed my attention, and I can whole heartedly say that it is definitely worth picking up. And if you haven’t picked up the band’s first CD, Spells From A Broken Wand, you really need to do so. A great album full of a lot of great tracks.

Hell, even if you have picked the disks up, may be you know someone who hasn’t, but may be interested in them? With this news it looks like my little brother will be getting introduced to the world of Wizard Rock this October for his birthday.

In my life I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and befriend some of the bands that I’ve followed. And few touring bands can afford to take this kind of loss. My heart goes out to the Lupins who put on one hell of a good show in Vienna on Saturday. If you’ve got an extra $13 lying around, please consider picking up an album and helping them out.
